On Saturday, Donald Trump expressed his belief that he has not engaged in any wrongdoing and firmly stated his refusal to consider accepting a plea agreement, in the event that he were to face charges related to election meddling in Georgia.
Trump attributed his current predicament to President Joe Biden and criticized the reporter who posed the question, referring to them as a “wise guy” for raising such an inquiry.
Fani Willis, the District Attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, has indicated that she will be bringing her case about election meddling by the former president before a grand jury in the upcoming week.
If an indictment were to be issued in the case, it would mark the fourth indictment for Trump, coming shortly after his most recent in Washington, D.C. within a span of just under two weeks.
Republican Party members were present at the Iowa State Fair, a significant event on the 2024 campaign itinerary.
Former President Trump’s visit to the fair elicited enthusiastic responses from supporters who vocally expressed their admiration, while members of Congress also utilized the occasion to convey their own messages.
During a short press conference on the tarmac prior to his departure from Iowa to his championship golf course in New Jersey, President Trump was questioned about his potential willingness to entertain a plea agreement in relation to the Georgia case concerning allegations of election tampering.
The reporter inquired about the possibility of him accepting a plea agreement in the state of Georgia.
“We did nothing wrong. We don’t ever take a plea deal. We don’t take plea deals. It’s a wise guy question. You’re just a wise guy,” Trump responded. “We don’t take plea deals because I did nothing wrong. It’s called election interference.”
Subsequently, Trump asserted that Biden was behind the charges as a strategic maneuver to secure victory in the 2024 election. He also derided the recent appointment of a special counsel in the inquiry pertaining to Hunter Biden, while also hilariously using the term “wise guy” to address the reporter a second time.
Trump was also questioned over his willingness to adhere to the judge’s directive in the D.C. lawsuit; however, he declined to make a definitive commitment.
REPORTER: Is there any chance you take a plea deal in Georgia?
TRUMP: We did nothing wrong. We don’t ever take a plea deal. We don’t take plea deals. It’s a wise guy question. You’re just a wise guy. We don’t take plea deals because I did nothing wrong. It’s called election interference. You know what that is?
Because these indictments are going out by Biden. Who can’t even put two sentences together. This is Joe Biden. Because he can’t win the election by himself. He can’t win the election based on votes. So what they did is they got the attorney general to do it. And then you see how stupid they acted yesterday with the appointment of the special counsel. They call it special counsel. And what a crazy thing that was. And it’s being laughed at all over the world.
The fact is that we have a country that’s in serious trouble. We have a country that’s in major decline. I don’t mean decline, I mean major decline. And we’re going to straighten it out. This group and a lot of people just like this group. We’re going to straighten it out and we’re going to make America great again.
Wise guy.
WATCH:
Early today, Trump criticized Smith for getting a search warrant for his former Twitter account.
Trump ripped Smith’s office, which is in charge of looking into how the former president handled secret information and to affect the 2020 election.
He posted on Truth Social:
“How dare lowlife prosecutor, Deranged Jack Smith, break into my former Twitter account without informing me and, indeed, trying to completely hide this atrocity from me. What could he possibly find out that is not already known. Just like the early morning raid of Mar-a-Lago! Why isn’t the DOJ raiding Crooked Joe Biden, the most CORRUPT (and Incompetent!) President in the history of the United States?”
Also this morning, about an hour ago at the time of this article, Trump went into a blistering indictment of those bringing charges against him:
“I UNDERSTAND THROUGH ILLEGAL LEAKS TO THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA THAT PHONEY FANI WILLIS, THE D.A. OF FULTON COUNTY, GEORGIA, WANTS DESPERATELY TO INDICT ME ON THE RIDICULOUS GROUNDS OF TAMPERING WITH THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. NO, I DIDN’T TAMPER WITH THE ELECTION! THOSE WHO RIGGED & STOLE THE ELECTION WERE THE ONES DOING THE TAMPERING, & THEY ARE THE SLIME THAT SHOULD BE PROSECUTED. I MADE A PERFECT PHONE CALL OF PROTEST. WHY WASN’T THIS FAKE CASE BROUGHT 2.5 YEARS AGO? ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”
Trump continued:
“WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL THE FULTON COUNTY GRAND JURY THAT I DID NOT TAMPER WITH THE ELECTION. THE PEOPLE THAT TAMPERED WITH IT WERE THE ONES THAT RIGGED IT, AND SADLY, PHONEY FANI WILLIS, WHO HAS SHOCKINGLY ALLOWED ATLANTA TO BECOME ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS CITIES ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, HAS NO INTEREST IN SEEING THE MASSIVE AMOUNT OF EVIDENCE AVAILABLE, OR FINDING OUT WHO THESE PEOPLE THAT COMMITTED THIS CRIME ARE. SHE ONLY WANTS TO “GET TRUMP.” I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHOW THIS INFO TO THE G.J.”
