The battle over the Speaker of the House has caused painful division between proponents of the America First agenda in Washington DC, and tensions are rising daily with the strain of who to put in charge.
The good news is that radical leftist Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will not be in leadership ever again since the GOP won enough seats to take the majority, but the celebrations over her departure are short-lived on the Hill, while the void she leaves is being fought over.
Surprisingly Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), a highly popular supporter of President Donald J. Trump and his agenda, who recently won her re-election, has come out in favor of putting US Rep Keven McCarthy (R-CA) in leadership, and she has faced criticism from her closet GOP colleagues over her dogged support of McCarthy.
The story is being floated by one insider that the reason for Greene’s surprising support of McCarthy is for personal gain and personal status. And some of her closest associates and friends are calling her out for her behavior.
Many Americans see McCarthy as a RINO and as somewhat of a self-serving and oftentimes underhanded opponent of Trump and of the Conservative-Populist MAGA movement in general.
Greene has made numerous media appearances to advocate other US House members on behalf of McCarthy. She also voted to support Kevin McCarthy as the next House Speaker.
This week, McCarthy won the Republican nomination for Speaker by 188 votes to 31. Arizona Representative Andy Biggs also ran.
The next vote for Speaker will happen in January- and sources say McCarthy does not have enough support to win, so the battle is now on, and Greene is out fighting hard for McCarthy- an establishment figure.
In a statement posted to his Twitter page after announcing he was running, Biggs—a founding member of the hard-right House Freedom Caucus—claimed the American people “want us to turn a page.”
Biggs remembers when Republican Paul Ryan betrayed Trump so badly that for the first two years of Trump’s presidency, he was not able to get through some of his per-American agenda.
Republicans have been accused of being weak and lacking the backbone to stand up to the most insane radical policy moves and attacks on the Republic and choose who will set the agenda as the Speaker- is hugely important to ever push back on the left.
The party needs to choose a focused, pro-American champion, and McCarthy has had plenty of opportunity to play that role, and he has failed to do so- so there is little trust in him.
Biggs appeared on the War Room with host Steve Bannon before the vote- to make his case for why he was running for Speaker and said that he knows he doesn’t have a chance to win, but he also knows McCarthy doesn’t have the support to win either. Biggs indicated that the party should unify behind another candidate them because McCarthy was simply unacceptable as Speaker for the next term.
The American people are hoping to see a very determined group of representatives conduct investigations into very important matters- and the trust for McCarthy to do that just isn’t there for most- but it is for MTG.
Biggs told Bannon, “do not want excuses or performance art, they want action and results.” McCarthy, he suggested, has so far been unable to deliver on that promise.
So why is MTG so determined to support McCarthy?
On Monday, Greene announced that she would be supporting McCarthy to prevent Liz Cheney from becoming Speaker.
Greene also appeared on the War Room with Bannon, and she told him then: “We cannot open the door to what the Democrats are doing right now, and that is scurrying all the way around looking for any weak RINO (Republican In Name Only) sellout Republicans that will join them.”
“That is what’s happening right now, and I find that terrifying. There is no way in hell I’m going to vote to hand that gavel to Liz Cheney or anyone else Nancy Pelosi wants.”
Newsweek reported on the fall-out from her War Room appearance and said that the following day, Florida Representative and long-time Donald Trump supporter Matt Gaetz turned on Greene and suggested her support for McCarthy would eventually backfire,” adding:
“Whatever Kevin has promised Marjorie Taylor Greene, I guarantee you this at the first opportunity, he will zap her faster than you can say Jewish space laser,” he said on FrankSpeech.com.
Gaetz continued: “I wish that wasn’t the case, but it is the conduct, and it is the pattern and practice of Kevin McCarthy over years that showcase this.” McCarthy has said that Greene would be allowed back on committees if Republicans win back the House.
Newsweek reported with more details:
“Laura Loomer is retroactively withdrawing her endorsement of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after MTG voted for Kevin McCarthy to be the GOP’s nominee to be the next Speaker of the House,” Right Wing Watch (@RightWingWatch) reported on November 15, 2022.

Newsweek continued: Speaking on Telegram, a far-right activist and congressional candidate Laura Loomer announced she was withdrawing her endorsement of Greene. Sharing a Washington Journal report about Greene’s support of McCarthy, Loomer called her a “Traitor to America First.”
She went on to add: “I formally withdraw my Endorsement of Marjorie Taylor Greene for Congress from 2020.
“I now realize I never should have supported MTG or used my network to help her behind the scenes.
“Especially helping her clean up her ‘messes’ within the right-wing Jewish community.
“I thought she was the real deal, but she has been nothing but a disappointment. Now she’s just a Hog Huntin CUCK for Kevin McCarthy.”
However, Greene has previously said she is unafraid of a civil war within the GOP.
While speaking on Bannon’s podcast, Greene said: “We’re going to fight it out. I’m telling you, I’ve always said I’m not afraid of the civil war in the GOP. I lean into it.”
