Former Trump lawyer John Eastman traveled to Wisconsin last month to meet with Republican Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos about decertifying the 2020 election.
Eastman is one of a group that has been working on behalf of Trump to bring election fraud to light in regard to the 2020 presidential election. He is being targeted by the House committee investigating the January 6 events at the Capitol.
Vos has previously admitted that “widespread fraud” occurred in Wisconsin, but the RINO speaker has also stated that the Wisconsin legislature “cannot decertify,” as stated in the Palmieri Report. According to some legal experts, this kind of reversal and reclaiming of the electors awarded to Joe Biden is unprecedented and the claim may be impossible.
Eastman, along with a small group, met privately with Vos on March 16 for two hours.
Jefferson Davis, who was also in the meeting, said that Eastman pushed Vos to begin “reclaiming electors” and move forward with “either a do-over or having a new slate of electors seated that would declare someone else a winner,” thepalmierireport.com reported.
Davis is a Wisconsin activist who has also been pushing to overturn the election results due to the accusations of fraud. ABC News reported that when asked for comment about the meeting Eastman himself replied, “By explicit request from Speaker Vos, that meeting was confidential, so I am not able to make any comment.” However, @HeartlandSignal tweeted that Eastman said,” the Wisconsin legislature…today…has the ability to say, ‘our election was illegally certified.’
Vos has been vocal and proactive in asking for election reform, stating claims of widespread election fraud. Vos was held in contempt by a judge last month for failing, in May 2021, to turn over documents related to a Republican-led investigation he had launched himself into the 2020 election.
His office did not respond to multiple requests by ABC News for comment, ABC reported.
MADISON.COM reported that Vos has said, “There are some people who think that the Legislature has a unilateral ability to overturn the election. We do not.” Vos added, “I think there was widespread fraud, and I think we are going to see more and more data that comes out,” he said, referring to the investigation by former state Supreme Court Justice and GOP-appointed special Counsel Michael Gableman.
As Jeff Miller reported for Republic Brief last month,
Judge Gableman was selected by the Wisconsin Legislature to investigate the 2020 election after finding that donation of millions of dollars to election administrators in five Democratic-heavy municipalities from Mark Zuckerberg’s Center for Tech and Civic Life violated state anti-bribery laws and corrupted election practices by turning election officials into liberal get-out-the-vote boosters.
Vos has been referred to as a RINO (Republican In Name Only) due to his uncertain stance on issues. Vos met with Eastman and the others just hours before he and the state senate’s top Republican were to discuss the same topic with county GOP leaders, reported the Associated Press.
“I still believe that we do not have the ability to decertify, but I said I would listen to those who are bringing experts to say we can and we will see if they can prove their case,” Vos said.
Eastman has been active in attending meetings and engaging in lawsuits with various states accused of election fraud. He has been active in Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Colorado. Eastman is committed to election reform, and a video posted by FEC United shows Eastman, referring to attacks he and other reformists have suffered, as “pure evil”.
Eastman has been clear in saying that he was in Washington, D.C. for events the week of Jan 6, 2021, attended a gathering of Trump supporters at the Willard Hotel on Jan 5, 2021, and spoke before President Trump at the “Save America” rally the next day, ABC reported.
Former President Trump has been “watching the decertification push closely, saying in a statement last month following the Wisconsin meeting that “Speaker Vos should do the right thing and correct the Crime of the Century-immediately! It is my opinion that other states will be doing this, Wisconsin should lead the way!”
MSN reported that former President Trump has been in contact with multiple people in Wisconsin who are working on the effort to decertify the 2020 election, and receives updates from others who are active in the movement to pressure Wisconsin to overturn the election results. Mike Lindell, MyPillow CEO, Douglass Frank, Army Reserve Lt. Colonel Ivan Raiklin, and Shawn Smith are a few of those working for results in Wisconsin.
Smith is a Colorado-based activist who has called Lindell an “angel investor” in her organization devoted to “election integrity”. Frank, Raiklin, and Smith attended the meeting with Vos on March 16 in Wisconsin.
Associated Press found last month that 24 people have been charged within Wisconsin, and Eastman and others continue to fight to bring election fraud to an end as well as decertify the 2020 election results.
Eastman, the California lawyer, is a former professor lawyer and dean at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law. is emerging as a top target of the House Jan 6 investigating committee, MSN reports.
Conservative efforts to bring about election reform, specifically in reference to the questions regarding the 2020 presidential election and questions fraud, electors, and the certification process have been ongoing in the United States.
