Barak Obama has been low-key since he left the White House to Donald Trump, and despite being the first president since Woodrow Wilson to remain in the capital city after leaving the presidency, indicated that he was not interested in being active in politics, according to Brittanica.
Obama may be trying to be low-key, but he and his influence are still being noticed.
Republic Brief reported on the influence of Obama on the current redistricting efforts.
Former Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder is serving as the Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.
Ignoring the fact that the United States of America was founded as and continues to be today a Constitutional Republic, Holder is concerned that the Republican Party is “just ain’t that into democracy.”
Holder spoke about his group’s midterm efforts in a recent interview with Sirius/XM host Joe Madison.
He is calling for poll workers, rather than to adhere to fair rules and ethics, to be a force against Republican efforts for that integrity.
Holder also spoke about the midterm elections at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival.
He chose to use military terms and addressed whoever is not “we” to be the enemy.
“If we want to be at the place where we need to be, it’s up to this generation at this time to make sure these changes occur. We have that capacity,” he said. “The cavalry is not coming. We are the cavalry.”
And now it seems that Holder has some Democratic big names coming to support his somewhat disturbing rhetoric, namely, the former president.
When Barak Obama was president, one of the main issues on his platform was climate change.
In the White House Archives, Obama’s statement on climate control can be found:
“President Obama believes that no challenge poses a greater threat to our children, our planet, and future generations than climate change – and that no other country on Earth is better equipped to lead the world towards a better solution.
That’s why under President Obama’s leadership, the United States has done more to combat climate change than ever before while growing the economy. In fact, since the President took office, carbon emissions have decreased 9 percent, while the U.S. economy grew more than 10 percent.”
Obama is lecturing the world on the virtues of making sacrifices in order to fight climate change.
But it seems now, even years after that statement, Obama is driving a gas-guzzling SUV, not an electric car for his local jaunts.
And in California, the state that has expressed its intention to get rid of gasoline motors completely.
Recently Barack Obama flew to Los Angeles and took his daughters to dinner in that gas-guzzling SUV.
The former First Lady, Michelle Obama, did not join them as she was in Seneca Falls, New York being inducted in the National Women’s Hall Of Fame.
The former president and his two daughters, Sasha and Malia ate at a swanky sushi restaurant on Saturday night.
And where did they park for this outing?
It seems a handicapped parking spot was available in front of West LA’s trendy Hamasaku sushi restaurant.
Not a cheap joint, Hamasaku’s eight-piece sushi rolls cost $50 and specialty rolls go for more than $20 each.
So Obama parked in that handicapped space. For two hours.
Obama’s Secret Service took up a handicapped space Saturday night as they waited for the former president and his daughters to enjoy their dinner.
The Daily Mail reported:
Former President Barack Obama’s Secret Service SUV was spotted parked in a handicapped spot for two hours as he dined at a swanky West Los Angeles sushi restaurant with his two daughters.
The black SUV stayed in a spot marked for handicap parking as it waited for the Obamas to finish eating at the pricey Hamasaku restaurant, where eight-piece sushi rolls cost $50 and specialty rolls go for more than $20 each.
The former president was pictured in all white as he stepped out of the restaurant alone while being escorted by secret service agents. His daughters, Malia and Sasha, left separately.
Obama could be seen waving goodbye to the restaurant staffers and turning down their offer of free ice cream dessert before the agents warned them to stand back as they made their exit.
Obama was enjoying dinner with his daughters on Saturday night while former First Lady Michelle was in Seneca Falls, New York, being inducted in the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
The family chose to dine at Hamasaku, a trendy restaurant located on Santa Monica Boulevard, in West LA.
Barack Obama was spotted walking out of the restaurant and hopping into the SUV.
It might appear arrogant to some that a proponent of climate change is driving such a vehicle, especially in California, and commandeering a spot for two hours that is specifically left for the less fortunate such as wounded veterans.
