Earlier this year, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia argued it was good for the Republicans to have a ‘civil war’ within the party.
She made the declaration in light of GOP Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger being censured by the Republican National Committee for serving on the Democrat-run January 6 select committee.
‘No one likes to watch people fighting, and we’re supposed to support one another – respect and obey Reagan’s “11th commandment.” But If we are truly going to stop the assault on our freedoms and stop what’s happening to our country, where America is just being able to be sold out to the rest of the world, we have to lean into this civil war in the GOP,’ she told The Washington Times.
Reagan proclaimed that the 11th Commandment was, ‘Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.’
‘I love Ronald Reagan. I think he was a great president, but … I don’t believe in the “11th commandment.” I only believe in 10. Those are the commandments I believe in, and saying we can’t criticize each other is just being soft and going for failure because the truth is iron sharpens iron,’ Greene declared.
In her remarks, Greene took particular issue with Republicans who are turning against Donald Trump.
‘They’re so naive,’ she replied ‘They’re so out of touch that they are saying, “Oh, he was a speed bump. It’s not who the Republican Party is. We’re gonna go back to being the uniparty with the Democrats where we all work together … and sell America out to the rest of the world.’
In her view, Republicans should ‘go to battle on the ides and the policies that will actually support our country and the base and the people that vote us into office.’
‘Then we can become the conference and we can become the party that’s actually going to solve the problems and serve the very people that send us to do that,’ Greene continued.
Now, Greene, true to her word is taking on RINOs and Never-Trumpers in the GOP.
Greene criticized President Biden and Democrats for implementing a far-left agenda in America.
Her next target was House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Several of Greene’s tweets argue that Republicans are “merging with Democrats” and doing very little to oppose Biden and Democrats.
Greene’s comments were as follows:
I ran for Congress because when Republicans controlled the House and Senate during the first two years of Trump’s presidency, they failed to deliver key issues that were of utmost importance to Republican voters. Broken campaign promises like: Repealing Obamacare. Obamacare took my family’s premium from $800 to over $2400 Funding and building a border wall. Rs funded all kinds of things for foreign countries but wouldn’t build a wall for Americans.
Defunding Sanctuary cities. Rs funded cities that harbor illegal aliens. Defunding Planned Parenthood. During the first two years under Trump, Rs couldn’t even defund that disgusting abortion mill. No, they funded it. That’s the one I really can’t get over.
You see, Republicans have a razor-thin minority in the House, only short a few votes. This puts maximum pressure on Pelosi to perform because she can’t lose any votes, she needs her full conference to pass bills. And perform she does. I respect her for that. Easy to perform when Republicans in the House apply no real pressure even though Democrat bills are so heinously un-American. The Communist Democrat agenda could be beaten if my colleagues would legislate and take action the way many give interviews on TV.
The political pendulum has swung back & forth between Rs & Ds for decades & we’re $30 trillion in debt, on the brink of communism, at risk of economic collapse, being drug into full dependence on a global economy, & the experienced Rs want to lecture me on how it’s done?
It’s beyond me that my Conference still chooses to stay with the “messaging” and fundraising tactic to take back the House and hasn’t comprehended what everyone else on the planet knows to be true.
We won’t have a Constitution or country left to take back in ‘22 and definitely not in ‘24 if Republicans in Congress don’t get their asses in gear. If Republicans are worth their weight in salt then they better wake up and realize that they are leaving their own with no confidence and feeling like they have to take matters into their own hands.
Here is what must be done. Impeach Joe Biden. The GOP Conference must come together with Articles of Impeachment. Spend as much money as it takes to apply pressure on moderate Dems that know they will lose their seats if they vote NO on impeachment.
The Republican primary in Georgia was won by Greene easily earlier this week.
A judge recently ruled that Greene can run for reelection, rejecting a lawsuit from a liberal group challenging her eligibility because they said she helped instigate the violence on January 6th at the U.S. Capitol Building.
