Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, expressed strong criticism towards former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday. This was in response to Clinton’s reaction, characterized by laughter, to Trump’s recent indictment.
Hillary Clinton, who experienced defeat in the 2016 presidential race against Donald Trump, displayed visible amusement in response to her former opponent’s indictment during her appearance on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show on Monday.
“Oh I can’t believe this!” she said and thereafter erupted into laughing upon learning about the recent indictment of Donald Trump in Georgia. The charges against him pertain to his endeavors aimed at overturning the outcomes of the 2020 presidential election.
Lara Trump, though, expressed her discontent and criticized Clinton during her appearance on the Fox News program “Hannity” on Tuesday evening.
“She went into that interview with Rachel Maddow, by the way, laughing. She was laughing about this last night,” Trump objected. “Let me tell you something; there is nothing funny about this.”
She added:
There’s nothing funny about the erosion of our American values, about the erosion of our Constitution, about the weaponization of our systems like Third World countries do against political opponents. Nothing funny, Sean, about our current president of the United States selling out our country to enrich his family, and of all people, Hillary Clinton, to be talking about this, who admitted to doing things criminally that are far worse than anything Donald Trump is even accused of doing, yet as you pointed out, no indictment there.
During a recent appearance on Newsmax, Lara Trump expressed her criticism towards Hillary Clinton, highlighting the lack of scrutiny by the Department of Justice about the former secretary of state’s actions. Specifically, Lara Trump pointed out that Clinton faced no consequences despite her use of the BleachBit software to delete 33,000 emails, an act that was explicitly advised against.
Hillary Clinton and Rachel Maddow, a prominent MSNBC host, faced significant criticism on social media on Tuesday. This backlash was a result of Maddow’s admonishment of individuals who propagate the false notion that “every election is stolen” during their discussion on Monday night.
“That the system of democracy at its heart is the idea that the people get to decide how we are governed. And if we no longer believe that our will is effectuated through the system, if bad actors tell us falsely that every election is stolen and that the only way an election is trustworthy is if they come out on top of it, it tells you something not just about that person or that moment, it maybe wounds us as a democracy and in a way that’s hard to repair,” Maddow said.
“What do you think about how we get better after the wounds that have been inflicted on us through this process?” the host asked Clinton.
“Well, I think the truth matters. I think having these cases be brought and be brought in such professional manners, we’ll see how they unfold. Obviously, the trials, if there are trials, are gonna be critically important,” the former 2016 Democratic presidential nominee said.
The podcast host, Mary Katharine Ham, shared her response to a clip of the exchange on several social media platforms. “Can y’all hear yourselves tho?”

Kind of awkward to tell Hillary to her face that she’s a bad actor who wounded our democracy. https://t.co/pRIE6L3Wsc

Several observers have remarked on Maddow’s persistent promotion of the Russian collusion narrative subsequent to Trump’s election in 2016, asserting that she displayed a complete lack of self-awareness.
Zero self-awareness coming from someone who promoted every debunked Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy theory to reverse the outcome of the 2016 election. https://t.co/AIW05swqdS

Indeed. Hillary claimed the 2000 and 2016 elections were stolen — and questioned the legitimacy of the 2004 elections. https://t.co/YUj8kXl574

Earth to Rachel Maddow…
