There is no doubt that the declaration made by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) has changed her life and will have an impact on her future in politics.
She will soon become a mother on top of her lawmaker duties, specifically. Luna revealed to Time magazine that she will give birth to a boy, who will be her first child, sometime during August.
Luna told the magazine, “We are very excited to welcome our son later this summer.” “Children are a blessing and we could not have asked for a greater gift.”
Eric Cortellessa, a Time correspondent, added that Luna’s pregnancy is extraordinary.
He observed on Twitter in a post with a link to the report that “this would make her only the 12th member of Congress out of more than 12,500 since Congress convened to ever give birth while in office.”

According to the story, Luna and Andy Gamberzky met while both were Air Force members. In 2021, Luna published a book on the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on military personnel in response to Gambersky’s return from Afghanistan, where he had been hurt by insurgents, according to Time.
Luna broke down in tears while exhibiting pictures of children who were terminated at full term during a hearing in March. The Daily Caller stated that the remains of 115 aborted kids were discovered at the residence of an anti-abortion activist. To far, no hearings or investigations have been held to address this tragic revelation.
Luna stated during the hearing that “one of the most egregious crimes occurred in DC with absolutely no hearing and no oversight.”
Time Magazine continued:
Roughly 28 percent of the 118th Congress is female, according to the Pew Research Center, the highest proportion in American history. There are also more millennial and Gen Z lawmakers roaming the House of Representatives than ever before, driving its median age down slightly from 59 in the last Congress to 58. The Senate, on the other hand, remains older, with a median age of 65.
Yet a younger Congress with more women could mean that pregnant legislators casting votes may become less of an anomaly over time. In fact, a quarter of congressional pregnancies, including Luna’s, have happened over the last five years. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, an Illinois Democrat who lost both legs serving in Iraq, had a child in 2018, making her the first U.S. senator to ever give birth while in office. Rep. Elise Stefanik, a New York Republican and the House Conference Chair, birthed her first child in 2021.
Luna, a 34-year-old freshman congressman, is one of the younger and most diverse members of Congress. She was the director of Hispanic outreach for the conservative advocacy organization Turning Point USA until she was elected to office last year. According to Time, Luna’s victory made her the first Mexican-American woman to represent Florida in Congress.
Luna has established a solid internet presence on Capitol Hill and is seen as a skilled lawmaker. She was elected to the powerful House Oversight Committee during her first term and is a member of the extreme House Freedom Caucus. Luna has become a viral celebrity because to her social media prowess. She was among the first Republicans in Congress to support former President Donald Trump’s bid for the presidency in 2024 in March of 2023.
Luna is now in South Korea as part of a delegation from the House that will leave on Tuesday. She will next spend three hectic months in Washington before the traditional legislative summer break begins in late July.
It’s interesting that the break falls on her due date, as Time pointed out.
“Over the summer, we’re actually in session a lot,” she told the magazine. She continues jokingly, “I’ll obviously be trying not to have a panic attack in August.”
Late in April, Luna called out a Democratic Rep.
“On committee today regarding Chinese money laundering operations in Mexico and the cartel’s involvement with the CCP, one of my colleges claimed we were waisting time and that China was not a “boogeyman.” She also implied drug use was just a “black and brown” issue. I corrected her.”

She also warned about the economic war being waged on America:
“Most Americans aren’t even familiar with the term BRICS.
BRICS is going to be the death of our economy.
Get familiar.”

BRICS is comprised of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
Luna also weighed in on the Afghanistan withdrawal disaster which Biden oversaw.
“This was a heavy hearing. I had some questions regarding the families of the 13 that were killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal. As a vet, this is something that will forever remain close to my heart. Our service members did not deserve this.”

Luna also speaks out on veteran’s issues:
“Today, my non-vet colleague on the other side made the huge mistake of attempting to justify using vets to fund billions of dollars in pet projects. I corrected him.”
