Somewhere in the rise of LGBTQ rights and the insanity of those who claim that pedophilia is a real sexual preference, the rights of children to be children and grow up safe and unmolested have been forgotten by many.
Not only do more and more people demand that they be able to showcase their sexual preferences in any way they want, but they also want to include children in those showings.
Across the country even some public schools have gotten in the game, bringing drag shows to the student body in elementary schools, promoting those events as “family-friendly”. A mere few years ago this would have been unheard of.
Liberals applaud such shows and are pushing for children to be included whenever possible. But while the left describes protecting the innocence of children as fascism, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis isn’t messing around when it comes to “family-friendly” drag shows that expose young children to sexually inappropriate content.
Such shows taking place in Miami recently were the subject of Gov. DeSantis’ actions.
The DeSantis administration announced on Tuesday that it will revoke the Hyatt Regency Miami’s alcohol license for hosting a “sexually explicit show with children present,” according to a statement released by the governor’s office.
“A Drag Queen Christmas” performed at the James L. Knight Center on Dec. 27, 2022, and children were reportedly allowed to attend despite a warning from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation — the Hyatt Regency Miami owns the liquor license at the facility, Biz Pac Review reported.
A complaint filed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation said performers showed their prosthetic breasts and genitals during the performance, intentionally exposed their rears, were “simulating masturbation” and had “graphic depictions of childbirth and/or abortion,” according to Fox News.
The show was initially promoted by the hotel with Christmas-themed materials that did not warn of sexually explicit content and included the words. ‘all ages welcome” Fox News reported.
After the venue was warned against having children at the event, promotional materials were updated to include a disclaimer that the show was “recommended for audiences 18+,” but the admission policies still allowed for children to attend if accompanied by an adult, the complaint stated.
“As a result, minors attended and were knowingly admitted” the complaint stated further. “During the Show and in the presence of persons less than 16 years of age, performers appeared on stage wearing sexually suggestive clothing and prosthetic female genitalia”.
Reports stated that there were songs contained in the show that are traditional children’s Christmas tunes, with the words changed to sexually explicit lyrics describing sexual actions.
Florida made good on their earlier warnings by revoking the license for alcohol at the hotel.
“Therefore, the Department is revoking the venue’s license for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages,” the official statement said. “Sexually explicit content is not appropriate to display to children and doing so violates Florida law. Governor DeSantis stands up for the innocence of children in the classroom and throughout Florida.”
The department also stated that on the screens behind the performers, videos were displayed of “exposed female breasts with less than a fully opaque covering, portrayals of simulated masturbation, and other sexually explicit content”.
Florida has been warning venues for some time not to cross this line into illegal activity.
DeSantis spokesman Bryan Griffin warned venues hosting dates on the Christmas tour back in December: “Exposing children to sexually explicit activity is a crime in Florida, and such action violates the Department’s licensing standards for operating a business and holding a liquor license.”
An Orlando venue, The Plaza Live, had its liquor license revoked after the explicit Christmas drag queen show was held there with children in the audience. “If you allow children to attend the Drag Fans drag show at your facility, you are putting your license in jeopardy,” the DBPR warned the facility ahead of time, Biz Pac Review reported. This particular show was produced by the Orlando Philharmonic.
The video below of a performance in Fort Lauderdale showed children in attendance, as well:

And while the left is in an uproar claiming drag queens should be allowed to have shows, there is widespread support for Florida taking a stand to protect children and some are thankfully posting the point; that it is not drag shows under attack, it is DRAG SHOWS IN FRONT OF CHILDREN THAT IS OBJECTIONABLE:
BREAKING: Governor Ron DeSantis has permanently revoked the liquor license of the Miami Hyatt Regency for hosting a drag queen sex show while children were present.
Not because of the drag queens.
Because the drag queens were promoting sexual deviancy in front of kids.

And postings reflect thoughts on morals:
The Hyatt Regency Miami’s liquor license has been REVOKED for hosting an all-age drag show!
You groom children in the state of Florida and the state of Florida is going to COME FOR YOU!
THIS IS HOW WE DO IT!

There was a sexually explicit drag show with children present in the Hyatt Regency in Miami.
DeSantis’ administration is revoking the alcohol license of the hotel.
Imagine how amazing would be America if every state was a red state.

When asked by reporters whether he would support proposed legislation from a Florida state representative that would punish parents who take their children to such performances, on Wednesday the governor stated, “We have child protective statutes on the books, we have laws against child endangerment. It used to be kids would be off-limits. Used to be everyone agreed with that. Now it just seems like there’s a concerted effort to be exposing kids more and more to things that are not age appropriate.”
