‘Complete Betrayal’ : Fox News Sees Heated Backlash

The month of June has been designated LGBTQ+ Pride Month, and the desire for ratings has prodded even Fox News to cross the line in promoting transitioning in children.

Reporter Bryan Llenas and producer Melissa Chrise created a segment promoting a family transitioning their five-year-old girl daughter into a transgender boy.

As if pre-schoolers should make any medical decisions, Llenas depicted the ‘transition’ as a positive thing, praising the child, Ryland Whittington, for being courageous and the parents and sibling for being supportive.

“What extraordinary courage displayed by Ryland, his sister Brinley, father Jeff, and mom Hillary. I want to thank the Whittington family for speaking to us. It’s not easy, particularly at a time when when transgender issues have been politicized. People are afraid of what they do not understand. This family hopes their story will lead to more understanding, more acceptance, and ultimately more love,” Biz Pac Review reported Llenas said.

The segment was aired last Friday as a part of the network’s “America Together: LGBTQ+ Pride Month” series.

Unfortunately, the network chose to highlight the supposed celebration of a small child attempting to change gender, but did not produce any segment addressing the disaster that is occurring in many lives of the individuals who attempt such a thing and regret that they did.

The issue of “detransitioning” is just as timely.

And, it’s not just Fox News that is slanting reports on ‘transitioning’.

Big Think magazine notes that “missing in the research literature on gender dysphoria and transition is comprehensive data on a particular subpopulation: detransitioners.”

Why? Critics say it’s because detransitioners buck the left’s preferred narrative. And indeed, far-left activists often argue against the media covering detransitioners because such coverage “risk[s] fueling transphobia, delegitimizing the transgender experience, and discouraging young people with gender dysphoria from pursuing transitioning,” Biz Pac Review reported.

The conservative base of Fox News is outraged at the one-sided view of ‘transitioning’ and is speaking out.

Many members of Fox News’ mostly conservative viewers are now gunning for the jobs of both Llenas and producer Melissa Chrise for running such a segment devoid of any pushback and criticism, Biz Pac Review continued.

For instance, Matt Walsh, the star of the recent documentary “What is a Woman?“, questioned the idea peddled by Llenas that Whittington “came out” as transgender at the mere age of five.

“The reporter says that the child announced a new gender as a toddler. Does Fox want us to believe that BABIES can choose their gender? This is the most extreme, radical, dangerous form of gender ideology. And it’s being promoted on Fox News,” Walsh wrote in a viral Twitter thread.

“The poor kid is 14 now with a permanently altered body, condemned to live forever with an identity imposed as a small child. It is horrifying, evil, and sick. And it is what Fox chose to promote.

And, detransitioning is nevertheless a vital topic of discussion because “[t]he vast majority of children who display signs of gender dysphoria desist over time,” according to conservative commentator and radio show host Ben Shapiro.

Shapiro has been outspoken about ‘transitioning’ and the resulting issues.

In Shapiro’s own series of tweets, he drew attention to another shocking tidbit from the Fox News segment — an observation by Llenas that “before Rylan could even speak, he managed to tell his parents that he is a boy” via his behavior, Biz Pac Review reports.

“I could just see it wasn’t him trying to be a brat. It was, like, painful — it was truly painful for him to have to wear feminine clothing and for us constantly telling him that you’re a girl,” Ryland’s mother explained at one point in the segment.

Shapiro is echoing the sentiments of millions of Americans, certainly the conservative base of Fox News.

“Every element of this video is propagandistic, dangerous garbage. The report states that this biologically female child was choosing her gender BEFORE SHE COULD SPEAK. This is madness,” Shapiro tweeted.

He continued, “Fox News is too important to conservatives to be weaponized on behalf of the most radical Leftist propaganda imaginable – propaganda that aims directly at the mental and physical health of children. They should terminate whomever is responsible for this agitprop abomination.

Twitter is overflowing not just with commentators like Walsh and Shapiro but with Fox News Nation subscribers who are declaring to cancel their subscription over this segment and the lack of coverage on the opposing view.

In addition to the journalistic concept of presenting all sides of an issue, does Fox News really want to pander to the few leftist viewers it has and ignore the outcry of its major base?

Will Fox News listen to its viewer base? Or is the network trying to capture the liberal viewers who watch CNN and MSNBC by producing “woke” pieces that are slanted to the left?

Propaganda or journalism? Which will it be?
