Former President Donald Trump mourned what he labeled a “very sad day for America” in a statement made in Washington D.C. after entering a not guilty plea in relation to the January 6th indictment.

He denounced the state of Washington DC as it was at the time and called the legal procedures taken against him political retaliation.

“Thank you very much. This is a very sad day for America. And it was also very sad driving through Washington, D.C. and seeing the filth and the decay and all of the broken buildings and walls and the graffiti,” Trump lamented, “And it was also extremely sad going through Washington, D.C. and seeing the filth and the ruin and all of the damaged buildings and walls and the graffiti. “This is not the place that I left. It’s a very sad thing to see it.”

The former President made his remarks after entering a not-guilty plea to charges relating to attempts to rig the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Trump’s claim that the accusations against him were political retaliation struck a chord with many of his fans. “This is a persecution of a political opponent. This was never supposed to happen in America,” he said, adding that surveys show he is ahead of Joe Biden in the general election and massively ahead in the Republican primary.

“So if you can’t beat him, you persecute him or you prosecute him. We can’t let this happen in America.”

Trump entered a not-guilty plea to the accusations made against him in relation to the events of January 6 on Thursday.

Judge Chutkan will have authority over the case’s first hearing, which is scheduled for August 28, a mere few weeks from now, according to reports. Trump was informed by Judge Upadhyaya that should he violate the conditions of his release, it would be grounds for the issuance of an arrest warrant, which may result in his potential imprisonment, as is customary in arraignments.

In conjunction with the Special Counsel’s inquiry into the Capitol incident on January 6, Trump was charged with four counts on Tuesday.

Trump stated publicly on Thursday on Truth Social that the American people’s honor is served by his approaching arrest. Trump stated that the persecution of him is a part of a broader problem in America prior to his presence in D.C.

In a post, Trump declared: “I am now going to Washington, D.C., to be arrested for having challenged a corrupt, rigged, & stolen election. It is a great honor, because I am being arrested for you. Make America Great Again!”

Trump penned a bombshell article for NewsWeek on Monday, where he tears into his Democrat political opponents and describes the deep state’s war against him and all freedom-loving Americans.

This comes on the heels of news that former President Obama visited Joe Biden at the White House to warn him that Trump is more formidable than any of them know. Democrats are definitely freaking out over the situation.

Trump’s Op-Ed in Newsweek declares that it is not him, but the American people who are the victims of the “Russiagate hoax.”

“The report by Special Counsel John Durham makes clear beyond a shred of doubt that the Russia Hoax was the most atrocious weaponization of our government in American history. It was a crime like no other,” Trump begins.

Seven years ago, I ran for office taking on all the most corrupt forces and entrenched interests in our nation’s capital. My agenda was an existential threat to a Washington establishment that got rich and powerful bleeding America dry.

I vowed to stop mass illegal immigration, terminate globalist trade deals, end the sellout of our country to Communist China, stand up to the permanent bureaucracy and the corporate media, and break the neocon addiction to endless foreign wars.

In response, an unelected cabal in the senior ranks of our government, in concert with their chosen candidate, Hillary Clinton, and their allies in the media, launched the de-facto coup attempt known as the Russia Hoax.

Their goal was to prevent my election, and failing that, to throw me out of office or sabotage my presidency, undercut my agenda in Congress, block my domestic reforms, and interfere with my foreign policy.

For nearly three years, they carried out a massive disinformation campaign and lawless persecution based on the monstrous lie that I was a traitor to my country.

These Deep State plotters spied on my campaign. They forged false evidence to get illegal surveillance warrants and smear innocent people through leaks to the media. They offered $1 million for a fictitious dossier written by a foreign spy to try to frame me with treason. They shattered countless lives.
