Military Documents About Gain of Function Contradict Fauci Testimony Under Oath

As a result of an investigation by Project Veritas’ in which the organization obtained stunning never-before-seen documents regarding the origins of COVID-19, gain of function research, and vaccines, the government has been exposed as having suppressed potentially effective treatments, and attempted to conceal all of the information.

In this case, the information comes from a report at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is part of the Department of Defense tasked with facilitating technology research that may be applied to the military.

An independent report to the Inspector General of the Department of Defense was obtained by Project Veritas, written by U.S. Major Joseph Murphy, the former DARPA fellowship recipient.

As stated in the report, EcoHealth Alliance approached DARPA in March 2018 with the goal of conducting gain of function research on bat-borne coronaviruses. DARPA rejected the proposal titled Project Defuse for safety concerns and the notion that it violates the moratorium on research based on gains of function.

It appears from the documents that NIAID, under Dr. Fauci’s guidance, committed to research in Wuhan, China, and in several U.S. locations.

It has been emphasized repeatedly by Dr. Fauci, under oath, that the NIH and NAIAD are not responsible for conducting gain of function research with the EcoHealth Alliance program. However, according to Project Veritas’s analysis of the documents obtained by the group, DARPA classified EcoHealth Alliance’s proposal as gain of function, as explained in the papers obtained by the group.

“The proposal does not mention or assess potential risks of Gain of Function (GoF) research,” as stated in the rejection letter by DARPA.

The report by Major Murphy goes on to outline great concerns about the COVID-19 gain-of-function program, the concealment of documents, as well as the suppression of potential cures such as Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine, as well as the mRNA vaccines.

DARPA was contacted by Project Veritas for comment on the hidden documents. Jared Adams, the Chief of Communications, said, “It doesn’t sound normal to me,” in response to a question about the secrecy surrounding the documents. “If something resides in a classified setting, then it should be appropriately marked,” Adams answered. “I’m not at all familiar with unmarked documents that reside in a classified space, no.”

Project Veritas CEO, James O’Keefe, broke this story on Monday night, asking DARPA the following question:

Who at DARPA made the decision to bury the original report? They could have raised red flags to the Pentagon, the White House, or Congress, which may have prevented this entire pandemic that has led to the deaths of 5.4 million people worldwide and caused much pain and suffering to many millions more.

Moreover, the Republican members of the House Oversight Committee have released several emails which suggest that Dr. Anthony Fauci was aware that Covid-19 originated from a lab leak, and that it very well may have been “intentionally genetically manipulated.”

We write to request a transcribed interview of Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director, U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Excerpts of emails we are making public today (see enclosed Appendix I) reveal that Dr. Fauci was warned of two things: (1) the potential that COVID-19 leaked from the Wuhan Institute Virology (WIV) and (2) the possibility that the virus was intentionally genetically manipulated. It is imperative we investigate if this information was conveyed to the rest of the government and whether this information would have changed the U.S. response to the pandemic, said Reps. James Comer and Jim Jordan in an open letter to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra.

The letter continues by asserting that Fauci – despite his repeated claims to the contrary – had in fact been aware that NIH, NIAID, and EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan lab had a financial relationship – by January 27, 2020. Fauci was also aware that EcoHealth and NIAID had created a policy that would ‘sidestep the gain-of-function moratorium at the time.’

This allowed EcoHealth to complete dangerous experiments on novel bat coronaviruses – and with little oversight – that would have otherwise been blocked by the moratorium, the letter asserts, continuing that in January of 2020, Fauci became aware that EcoHealth failed to submit an annual progress report to NIAID, presumably to hide a gain-of-function experiment conducted on infectious and potentially lethal bat coronaviruses.

Covid-19 was discussed by Fauci, NIH head Collins, and “at least eleven other scientists”, according to the letter.

It was on this conference call that Drs. Fauci and Collins were first warned that COVID-19 may have leaked from the WIV and, further, may have been intentionally genetically manipulated. Again, it is unclear if either Dr. Fauci or Dr. Collins ever passed these warnings along to other government officials or if they simply ignored them.

A paper was published three days after the conference call titled “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2,” which Fauci and Collins received drafts of. They suddenly abandoned their earlier concerns about lab leaks and genetic manipulation in favor of claiming that the new virus had a natural origin.

A week later, Collins emailed Fauci to express disappointment that the Nature Medicine article that they saw before publication (which they also were authorized to edit), did not dispel the laboratory leak hypothesis.

In a follow-up, Collins asked Fauci what more the NIH could do to dispel the lab leak hypothesis. From the White House podium the following day, Fauci cited the paper “likely in an effort to further stifle the hypothesis that COVID-19 leaked from the WIV.”

Afterward, House Republican members asked a number of questions.

Rather than be transparent with the Committee, HHS and NIH continue to hide, obfuscate, and shield the truth. By continuing to refuse to cooperate with our request, your agencies are choosing to hide information that will help inform the origins of the ongoing pandemic, prevent future pandemics, respond to future pandemics, inform the United States’ current national security posture, and restore confidence in our public health experts. HHS and NIH’s continued obstruction is likely to cause irreparable harm to the credibility of these agencies. The emails released today raise significant questions, including but not limited to:

    1. Did Drs. Fauci or Collins warn anyone at the White House about the potential COVID-19 originated in a lab and could be intentionally genetically manipulated?
    2. If these concerns were not shared, why was the decision to keep them quiet made?
    3. What new evidence, if any, came to light about COVID-19 between February 1, 2020 and February 4, 2020 to alter the belief it originated in a lab?
    4. Did Drs. Fauci or Collins edit the Nature Medicine paper entitled “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2”?
    5. Would having this knowledge earlier have benefitted either vaccine or treatment development?
    6. By February 1, 2020, were Drs. Fauci or Collins aware of the State Department’s warnings about WIV safety?
    7. Would this warning have changed the early response to the COVID-19 pandemic?’

On Tuesday morning, Republicans on the House Oversight Committee tweeted, “Time for answers.”

A number of top health officials, including Fauci, testified before the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions committee Tuesday morning concerning the federal response to emerging variants of COVID-19.
